A new stage in collaboration with Cló

In the frame of scholarship TrasnúResident artist Mkrtich Tonoyan, from Armenia representative of ACOSS NGO,
will present ideas from his work and exchange with Cló.   

Visual material will also be presented by Ian Joyce along with a poetry reading By Cathal O’ Searcaigh.  

Along with Nuala Ni Fhlathúin, Mkrtich Tonoyan was awarded the first scholarship to participate in the Trasnu exchange programme funded by Ealaín na Gaeltachta and initiated by Cló. The programme focuses on an artistic and cultural exchange between The Gaeltacht and The Caucasus region. Trasnú emphasises contemporary artists who engage with the languistic and cultural uniqueness of the Gaeltacht and the Caucasus (Armenia).
 During his stay Mkrtich Tonoyan will develop links  between ACOSS and Cló with a view to  assisting a future artists’ exchange between Armenia and Ireland.Mkrtich Tonoyan, will work on a special installation of his work for the “Living Archive” during his residency which will be exhibited on 23rd of October along with works by Aoife McGarrigle who is this years recipient of the Magghie Hughie Eoin Scholarship.
